Description: The 1st hole at
Par Line Golf Course
is a a fairly long par 4, slight dogleg left. There is a power
line tower in the center of the fairway, which longer hitters can reach
(local rules allow a free drop on either side). A shot that
reaches the tower will have about 150 yards left to a green that slopes
right to left with a bunker on the left side.
Comments From the Caddy Shack (Rating *): The fairway is wide open, so go at the tower with all you've got. Take your drop to the left of the tower as the green is more easily approached from that side. This green slants somewhat dramatically from right to left, so you'd prefer to leave your approach shot to the left of the flagstick. There is a bunker on that side of the green, but it sits back and away from the green and doesn't catch that many balls. Short and left is about as good as being on the green a long distance to the right of the flag. So aim your approach shot slightly to the left of the pin and take a big swing with the shortest club that will get you there. If you miss left short of the bunker you'll still have a realistic uphill chip and dip at par. |
