Description: The 13th hole at
Par Line Golf Course
is a short par 4, downhill dogleg left, with the prevailing wind.
The tee shot from the white tees requires a carry of 160 yards or
so over a wilderness area. The green is guarded by bunkers left
and right.
Comments From the Caddy Shack (Rating ***): It's a green light special for long hitters. Go for the green. The only problem is that a severe hook will land you in the lake. The average player plays it just to the right of the tree, which will leave 75-125 yards for your approach. If you go too far right or hit it too far you can carry the fairway, but usually you'll still have a reasonable look. Fat shots will land in the wilderness area, and that's the big risk off the tee. The green has a lot of hard-to-detect breaks and speed issues. It generally plays easier from below the hole or left of the flag. Hit a good tee shot and you are pretty much guaranteed a par or bogey. Low handicappers will consider this a realistic birdie hole. |
